Prof. Sylvia Kwok and her team are awarded the 2022 Higher Education (Undergraduate) National Teaching Achievement Second Class Award

Led by Prof. Sylvia Kwok of the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at the City University of Hong Kong, the "Joint University Mental Wellness Project" (JUMP) was honoured with a Second Class Award in the 2022 Higher Education (Undergraduate) National Teaching Achievement Award by the Ministry of Education in China. The quadrennial award granted by the Ministry of Education aims to reward collective and individual achievements in teaching, encourage educators to engage in research on education and teaching, and improve the standard and quality of education. It is the highest national award in the field of education research and teaching. OF the 500 projects awarded the Second Class Prize, JUMP is one of only two in Hong Kong to receive this recognition.

The project team includes scholars from the City University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Education University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Baptist University. By adopting the positive transformational learning pedagogy, the project aims to enhance the well-being and learning experiences of university students, cultivate their meaning in learning and life, and foster the students to interact with society and the world in positive and constructive ways, contributing to a flourishing life. Ultimately, it is hoped that the project would nurture students to become citizens with core values and a keen sense of responsibility and social commitment.
