In line with the University requirements, social work and counselling disciplines also offer high quality research programmes with a MPhil or PhD degree. The programmes aim to engage practicing social work and counselling professionals/academics or potential students to acquire competence in advanced research methods and integrate their practice experience in research projects which can generate new knowledge and innovation to inform policy and practice for the quality of life the needy and the betterment of society.

Our faculty members are experienced practitioners with strong academic background and research excellence in the areas of positive education, school bullying, youth growth and development, health and ageing, family process and parenting practice, housing policy and practice, people living under poverty, substance abuse and rehabilitation, people with disability, social equality and diversity. We welcome students who aspire to make scholarly contributions and significant impacts in social work and counselling.
