School Aggression and Bullying

The School Aggression and Bullying puts cross-cultural collaboration at the forefront of its research strategy, working with international scholars from the U.S., U.K., Spain, Singapore, Canada, and the Chinese mainland to develop and evaluate interventions addressing aggression, bullying, psychopathic traits, and depression among children and adolescents. Significant milestones of this cluster include the establishment of the Cyber-Joy Enjoy Laboratory in 2020 to complement the work of its existing C.A.R.E. Laboratory (established in 2006). These labs pioneer evidence-based interventions using physio-moral, neurobiological, social learning approaches,and social information-processing. Recognized by the Education Bureau, over 200 schools, comprised of 5,000 students and parents, have benefited to enhance their empathic competence, anger management, and reduce suicidal ideation among students. 7,000 teachers, professionals and police officers have been trained.
