Introducing a New Stream of Master of Arts in Applied Social Sciences (MAASS): Clinical Mental Health Practice
Mental health issues in Hong Kong have become a pressing societal concern. Rising levels of stress and anxiety across most demographics have led to alarming outcomes such as suicide among the youth and the older adults, as well as widespread emotional strain on caregivers and professionals. To address these pressing issues, the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at CityUHK has introduced a new stream, "Clinical Mental Health Practice," within the Master of Arts in Applied Social Sciences (MAASS) programme. This stream is designed to provide social work practitioners, helping professionals, and staff with advanced-level training in clinical mental health practice, equipping them to better support individuals and communities in navigating mental health challenges in Hong Kong.
