Introduction

Fostering Age-friendly

By May 2014, ten groups of students (with four to five students in a group) formed inter-disciplinary working groups and participated in the project competition of webpage design. Two outstanding proposals were chosen with experts on social gerontology. Eleven students from different majors participated in the actual design and building of two Age-friendly City Websites.

The two outstanding including
  • Reconstructing the Old: The new image of the older people - constructing a life story book for your loved one
The project aims at facilitating young people’s understanding of different aspects of the older generation through the web and becoming aware of their sense of care for their parents. The project would like to give the message of treasuring the time with their parents and provide a guideline for young people to make a life story book for their parents or loved ones.

  • Tool for Joyful Retirement Life: the practical information for old age
The project aimed at providing information on medical service, leisure activities, and welfare programs relating to old age in an attractive and organized way. The website is for young people and/or older people to learn about the community resources that older citizens may benefit from in Hong Kong.
